Interpage Call Hold is a standalone call "parking lot", where inbound calls may be held until you are ready to answer them. Callers may be greeted with a personal or company greeting, an upfront instructive message that their call will be answered shortly, all of which is followed by call-hold music or customer supplied music/announcement audio files.
Call Hold subscribers can be notified by any combination of text/SMS, e-mail, or voice notifications that a new call is waiting, and may dial in to speak to the caller from any telephone worldwide. Callers which are not answered after a customer-set period of time will be sent to voicemail or to an alternate fallback telephone number. The Caller ID and Caller ID Name of the calling party will be included in the hold notification message, if available.
Interpage Call Hold customers may have their callers sent to the Call Hold queue from the cellphones, landlines, or most other telephones or IVR systems, without the need for any special equipment, software, or applications. Call Hold may be activated or de-activated from a given subscriber's cell phone or landline at will, and customers who direct their calls to the Call Hold service will generally have the ability to screen calls first and answer them immediately from their phones, to immediately direct the call to the Call Hold service, or to allow the call to ring and then transfer to the Call Hold service (or other Interpage call service, such as Voicemail or DirectPage.

Interpage's Call Hold and Queue System is a fully-featured, stand-alone, flat rate call hold service, allowing Call Hold subscribers to be sure that important calls are not missed or sent to voicemail, but instead are answered in a timely and professional manner. Call Hold works with nearly any telephone, and offers a variety of advanced notification, scheduling, and filtering features.
When a call is received at a Call Hold account, customers may receive the following status/alert notifications:
The above notifications may be filtered and scheduled based on Caller ID, time of day, or day of the week, so that only certain recipients receive desginated messages.A "pre-call" notification containing the Caller ID and Name (if available) of the caller is sent to one or more cellphones and/or email addresses, even if the caller does not continue to hold, so as to provide a detailed record of the call. A "caller holding" notification containing the Caller ID and Name (if available), of the caller on hold, sent to one or more cellphones and/or email addresses. A "caller holding" voice alert to indicate that a caller is waiting. A call with the held caller, which may be accepted or rejected, without the caller knowing, allowing an immediate connection to the caller, or providing time to call in to the Call Hold account and answer the held/waiting call as needed.
Interpage Call Hold accounts and held call retrieval may be accessed via any Touch Tone telephone, and does not require an special software, applications, or any equipment of any kind.
Call Hold customers may obtain local numbers in the US, Canada, or many other countries worldwide, and multiple access numbers can be linked to the same Call Hold account if needed.
Interpage Call Hold can also be integrated into other Interpage services such as Voicemail or Custom IVR, to provide a single, unified number to callers with hold, queueing, voicemail, text/e-mail/voice notifications, and other enhanced features.
Call Hold Operation and Use
Typically, Call Hold customers can automatically send calls to their Interpage Call Hold numbers via the "no answer transfer" feature on their cellular or landline phones (which is available on nearly every cellular or landline phone), but the following are alternate ways which callers can be placed on hold to provide even more flexibility and customization:
• Manually directing calls from a cellular phone via the "busy transfer" and/or "call reject" option. Based on the Caller ID of an incoming call, Call Hold customers may selectively elect to send a given call into their Call Hold account to place the caller on hold so as to be able to answer them later.Interpage Call Hold can also be configured to direct certain, specific callers immediately to a phone number or other call treatment, such as Interpage Voicemail (so the given caller will never alert that they are on hold), or a numeric paging/text message prompt requesting that they enter a callback number, etc.
• Forwarding all calls to a Call Hold account with "unconditional" call forwarding, and then picking up held calls from the given Call Hold account.
• Providing your Call Hold number to some or all callers to call directly, and picking up calls from known/desired callers, while allowing all other callers to go to an optional voicemail box or other result (such as a busy signal, a recording, another telephone destination, sms or text numeric page, etc.)

•Call Hold/001 Call Hold Plan 001: Callers are greeted with a standard prompt requesting that they hold, and are then presented with music until the call is picked up, or times out, in which case they are informed that no one is available to answer their call. Notifications of callers waiting are sent to one fixed destination (such as a cellphone or email) where all messages are directed to. No scheduling, customization, or filtering functionality is provided. This plan is suitable for customers who intend to have all messages arrive at one end device, such as their mobile phone, or an email address (where their email provider can provide the filtering), etc. Two callers at maximum may be kept on hold; a third simultaneous caller will receive a busy signal while the first two callers are on hold.
